I like my new M&P C.O.R.E. except...

...the trigger is wretched. In comparison to my Sig P229 the M&P trigger feels like dragging two files together.

I ordered an Apex Tactical M&P 9/40 Trigger Kit for Competition for it. I hope it improves the trigger considerably or I'm going to sell my M&P C.O.R.E. and have the slide on one of my Sigs milled for the red dot.

I'm really hoping the trigger kit smooths out the trigger pull.

Interesting. I have always said that the Pro Series M&P's had a trigger that was considerably better than stock and only a margin less than one with an apex sear. IMHO, Pro triggers were plenty good enough for anything 95% of shooters were likely to do with them. (This was based on owning 3 M&P's with the pro treatment within the last 8 years or so.) That said, I recently bought another M&P9Pro in the CORE flavor and my opinion has changed. This one has a trigger that is only marginally better than a 48 state M&P trigger. It breaks clean enough but at nearly 5# .The take-up is very gritty. Mine will be getting some TLC on the trigger chain (per Dan Burwell's instructions) very shortly.

p.s. The apex sear will make the break crisper and lighter. To get the grittiness out of the front end, will take a modified and or new (apex) safety plunger and spring. (Some polishing in the right spots helps too.) Lots of good instruction on YouTube to help you here.
You will be happy when it's done.

Thanks. The kit I ordered has a new sear and new modified striker block and new springs. I will do some polishing on the trigger bar and anything else that needs it. I hope that will take care of my problems.

I was less than happy with my trigger. It feels like it is 6 lbs or greater. I am going to leave it for now. I think I can live with it, but I will reevaluate it after a few hundred rounds.
