Have been collecting S&W revolvers for 52 years. own a few K frames but really have focused on N frames for 40 years.
Here is picture of 4 of my favorites. I carry them and I shoot them.
From the bottom:
MODEL 27-2 3.5"
MODEL 27-2 5"
MODEL 57 ND 4"
MODEL 29-2 4"

Just got the 27-2 3.5" yesterday from new Forum member.

When in the Rockies , I shoot full house magnums. 240 grain in .44 magnum , usually factory. I shoot 210 grain in .41. In Texas I shoot Special reloads with 6.5 grains of HP 38 in 44, 7.5 grain in 41. Same weight in bullets.
The 4” guns are robust with magnum loads , very smooth with Special loads. I holster these guns on horseback. I am 5’ 10” and shrinking so 6” are hard to draw in a hurry. Therefore I have always bought 4” magnums.

Nice set of revolvers. What other N frames do you have? I only have one example of each of the models I own, most are N frames but 3 are K frames. If I was still buying guns I'd like a second of each model in the converse barrel length (a short barrel to go with the long barrel and vice-versa). Of course I have a couple there is no long barrel version for, but that's the breaks.

Back in the 70's -80's when I was an LEO I only carried N frames - usually a 4 inch model 57 with 240 grain lead SWC with gas check at around 890 FPS. Tried to carry a 6 inch N frame for while on duty but it was a pain when your getting in and out of the car all night. Another guy on my shift carried a 44 mag N Frame - 4 inch. My department would let you carry anything S&W, Colt or Ruger 38 spec or larger if you could qualify with it. They only rub was if you carry a 38 the department gave you 1000 round a year for practice - anything else was on your nickel. I remember when the L frames starting showing up and I still carried my N frame.

I love N-frames. As far as I'm concerned they're the epitome of revolver design. For me, they're the easiest of guns to shoot. Their sights are, for whatever reason, easiest to visualize, and their big frames really soak up the recoil. Alas, I own only two of them, so far, a Smith & Wesson Model 27-3 and a 625JM. However, time and finances permitting, I'm going to rectify that deficit.

Another N frame aficionado! The nickel plated 25-2 still eludes me to this day.

I do love my two N-frame S&W revolvers, Models 25-5 and 625-9. Both chambered in 45 Colt.

I used my 625-9 at a IDPA match and the younger shooters with their little 9mm'rs thought I was using a cannon! :-))

God bless,
