I would like to see some 45 ACP revolvers if anyone wants to show them. I have just got a new 625 I have wanted for a long time. It goes with my 25-2 and thunder ranch 22-4 so I have plenty of ammo loaded in ACP and auto rim.....SEND PRIMERS

Pictures? You want "pictures?" Well here you go: S&W 625-2 - a set on Flickr

The very first handgun I ever bought with my own money was a Colt Combat Commander in .45 ACP. Since then I've owne, borrowed, and used any number of .45 ACP pistols by Colt, Springfield Armory, Glock, etc. It is my personal opinion that the .45 ACP is one of the most effective calibers available for any use for which a handgun might be employed.

I have been using .45 ACP pistols for over 20 years. But only recently have I made the jump to .45 ACP revolvers. This past week I bought a pristine 625-2 revolver and, of course, soon took it out for a range test. I found the results to be positively remarkable. It may be a fluke, but using plain Jane 230 gr. FMJ, this 625 will shoot six and twelve round groups that would be difficult to obtain from a standard grade 1911 type pistol. Even a well prepared 1911 would be hard pressed to produce significantly better results. I do think that at least some of the excellent on target results obtained is due to the seemingly inherent accuracy of the .45 ACP round. JMHO. Sincerely. brucev.

Here is my all time favorite revolver - a 625-6:

Here is a target that I shot this morning. Standing at 25 yards in a windstorm gusting to 35 mph for a postal match:

That target best illustrates why I LOVE these revolvers. The load was a 200 gr H&G #68 Clone by MiHec cast at home ahead of 4.5 grs of 5066 with a Federal Large pistol primer (#150).

Drive that same bullet with 7.5 grs of Unique and you have a premier fighting load running about 1000 fps.

Life is GOOD!

Here is my 25-2 custom. It may be a Jovino, yet I am not sure yet.

Yup ya just got ta love a .45 revolver! I have a JM, a M-1989, a M-22-4 and a Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt/ACP. They are a blast to shoot and you dont have to hunt for brass! The Ruger much to my surprise is very accurate with the 45 ACP and no moon clips to fool with.

I just recently bought a Model 25-2. A very accurate revolver, and it came with the original instructions and display case.

After I got my 625-3 it quickly became my favorite revolver. It shoots as well as my Ed Brown 1911 and you can shoot it all day long. Those 2 guns make for a fun day at the range.

625 Model of 1989. Just wish .45 ammo was not getting so high. Hard to find a nicer shooting revolver than a Smith .45 though.

No pictures but I have a M25 no dash that is in like new condition. It shoots great, feels good and even came with the box.

Using moon clips I'm lucky to be able to hit the black but just dropping in single rounds or using Auto Rim brass it is a tack driver.

I ordered some reproduction grips & lanyard loop for this the other day:

I'm really enjoying it. My first .45ACP Revolver. It inspired me to buy this 625-6 that was sent back to S&W for 4" PC Barrel, timing/action work and bead blast. :

It's even better in person!

My favorite 2 handguns are a 1911 in 45 ACP, and a S&W in 44 Mag.

My third favorite handgun would be a S&W revolver in 45 ACP. I used one for a work gun for several years. [I used the above 2 as work guns for several years as well, due to changes in the "rules" I had to switch calibres and between semi auto/revolver].

If a person does not need the POWER of a 44 Mag, I think a revolver in 45 ACP is a most excellent choice.

If you do not mind carrying a big revolver for Concealed Carry, a S&W in 45 ACP is the best choice IMHO.
