I want to buy a .45 ACP revolver in the next few weeks. I am selling a gun that will finance. I need advice on what is a favorite Model x25-. I will use it almost entirely for target. Although the 325PD has me thinking I could maybe do it as a carry gun. Any comments on the 325 PD snubby and it's accuracy would be helpful.
I have researched the JM625 and PC 625. Both seem like good guns. I would also highly consider a 625 or 25 in pre-lock. Even an older .45 cal model of 1955. I even have looked at the 1917 Army .45. I like that a lot too but wasn't sure if they would be OK for putting a lot of rounds through. Anyway to recap.. I want it mainly as a shooter.. mostly for targets but not necessarily competition.
Your thoughts on best gun you would use?
Mike

I have owned Webleys, 1917's, 25's and 625's over the years.
For range target work a 4" or 5" 625 should work very well for you. The 4" will also work for IDPA ESR Division.
Now as a concealed carry piece we have 2 good choices. The 3" 625, and the 2-1/2" 325 Night Guard. I have a Power Custom Combat 3" 625. It is a great carry handgun. With that said, if you were to take turns packing a 3" 625, and a 2-1/2" 325 Night Guard day in day out, you will probably get to liking the Night Guard much better due to its much lighter weight. Also the only 3" 625 I located on GB for sale was in the $1,300 range, also making the Night Guard look better.
I do not own a 325 Night Guard, however I do own a 310 Night Guard, the 10MM/40 S&W version. It is a very sweet handgun for concealed carry. Per other posts on this site they are supposed to hold up to a great deal of shooting with no issues. On the down side they do recoil more than a steel gun.

First thing will be finding one at a reasonable price. The current JM 625, and 325NG guns will probably be the easiest to locate at a reasonable price.
The 625JM runs between $800 and $900 on GB.
The Older Model 625 with 3", 4", and 5" barrels will probably be in the range of $800 on Up to $1300.
The 625 Thunder Ranch 4" should be around $1,000 to $1,100.
The 325NG are also in the $850 range.

BUD's Guns last I checked listed the following in stock:
325NG at around $830
625 Performance Center 4" at around $850
325 Thunder Ranch 4" at around $1,050

Myself I can find things I like about each one. In my opinion at the current prices the 325 Night Guard is probably the most Bang for your Bucks of the ones I looked at.

Also check on the Classified's on this site. Or Post in the Want to Buy section and see what turns up.

Bob

I was crazy about these when they first came out, wish S&W was still making it. If I find one in good shape, I'll snap it up in a heartbeat:
