I have a S&W Model 12-3 K frame airweight square butt and 2 inch barrel that I have been carrying concealed daily. It is a joy to carry because it is so light but big enough to shoot well. I use a Theis IWB holster that works very well. Any of you guys carry one of these awesome guns? I like it so much that I am keeping my eye out for another one to use for my bug.

I have a model 12-2 that is in my carry rotation. The gun has a great trigger and is nice and light. I carry it with Buffalo Bore Standard pressure 158gr LSWCHP's.

I belive the m13 is the best kept secret of conceled revolver cary (until now :) )
I used to sometimes cary my model 37 IWB. But since I discovered the m13 it took the place of IWB (or in a pancake) and my m37 got used only for pocket duty.

Compared to a j-frame, it's much more size and weight but easier to control and 20% more shots.

M12

I had one a good number of years ago...I liked it but traded it for some reason I don't remember. These days, when I want to go retro or the days of my youth style, I carry a 2" M15. If I want to go lighter but still have 6 rounds I carry my old Colt agent(not the 1980's rough finished one). nearly as easy to shoot but a bit smaller and much lighter. The M12 is a prime daily carry revolver though...You have good taste!

I have a model 12 that I did carry along in rotation with my model 38. But now both of them are on the fritz and I will have to repair the 12 and hope to repair the 38. These are great lightweight carry guns.

Now Im really jealous. I bought a Model 12 for my off duty gun. They did not have any model 10's in stock which is what I wanted. The guy at the police equipment store had a 12 and he convinced me to buy it. It cost me a whopping $88.00 at the time. I carried it off duty and on duty when I went to the Det. side of the business. It was with me in an IWB, ankle rig and strong side right hip holster too. The Department said we could not carry aluminum frames any longer because they could not withstand the pressures of the new Plus P we carried. I sold mine to a priest for 100.00 bucks, and bought a model 36. I sure missed that two inch 12 and if you want to sell yours, well I know a buyer.

I carry a SB Model 12 using a HipGrip when I feel like having that one extra round that my J frames are lacking. The double tap speed and accuracy that I get from this gun has surprised me.

Great choice.... I've carried my Model 12-2 often. An easy, light carry with 6 solid shots.

I have a 2" Model 12-2, RB, de-spurred and converted to DAO, equipped with Uncle Mike boot grips, that I sometimes carry, but more often I pocket-carry a 442. Still, I shoot the Model 12 exclusively in IDPA. And yes, the boot grips fit just fine on the Model 12.

Here's a link to a MidwayUSA video on the Model 12

A buddy of mine who was a Police Officer a spell back was carrying a 4" Model 12 Flat Latch. I believe it is a No Dash. He bought it new, and still has it.

I swapped ammo with him a while back. I loaded him some Non Plus P 38 Hollow Points to replace the +P ammo he had on hand for it. He did not need to be shooting +P in the old girl.

I have no idea why the M12 was not more popular.

A 3" Round Butt Rated for +P with a full length ejector rod would be a great carry gun.

+ whatever # we're on. I love my RB M12. Really surprised that S&W doesn't make them anymore - a great carry piece.
