i have 2 now a 15 and a 19 ,i sold a old 44 spec. to david in dayton .made 1939,i have others guns rifles shot guns ,etc.even brownigs and colts ,they just dont seem to stack up

Welcome to the forum.

You've come to the right place if you like S&W. A 15 and a 19 are a good place to start. If you want a real nice HE find a M&P (pre-model 10). From 1946 to 1960 IMHO anyway are the golden years for S&W. The designs and fit and finish of that era are the best of S&W.
