I just took my Heinie straight eight night sites to the range for the first time. These are on a full size 40. Time re align on target for follow up was very fast.

Tru Glo TFO's rock. especially in the daytime when the lite pipes really start to shine.

I just put a set on my Shield 9 in the last couple of month. Very nice. Very nice indeed.

Quick update. I'm still loving these sites and will get some for my shield in the next couple of months

Question... I can't find specific details on this and need help.

Are shield and regular M&P sights the same? As in, can I buy night sights that say "Smith and Wesson M&P Models" and install them on a Shield? I am picking up a Shield tomorrow and was not sure about this.

Thanks

They do have the same dovetail, yes.

From what I've read, how's well they did varies from brand to brand. Some that are designed for the M&P may fit oddly on the Shield, possibly overhanging the sides or back of the slide.

This is just what I've gleaned from reading.

Like this one says fits "M&P, Compact and Shield - All Calibers".

Hi VIZ SW2014 S&W M&P FS & Compact & Shield Front sight Red Green White SW2014

The reason I am asking I'd because I found a smokin deal on a set of tritium sights but it says "For M&P" but does not list the Shield...

TruGlo TFO M&P sights made after August, 2013 have the new narrow dimension of the rear sight to prevent the overhang when used on the Shield. There is a white sticker on the rear of the card with the model number and bar code. Above the model is a 6 digit code. yr xx(worker's initials) mt. For example: 13 FT 09 = September 2013...new rear sight design.

Update again, when compared to three dot I can get these lined for center of mass shot quicker. For precise target shooting the three dot are easier if I want the bullseye precision. I can get it with these but because of the lack of horizontal contrast it's a little bit harder.

Being that this a carry gun I'm fine with that.
