"I Mean Business!" - a 3" 13-2 Engraved to Carry

It's a beautiful gun but I would never consider carrying it. In most places, should you have to use a gun to defend yourself - to the extent you have to shoot someone - the police will confiscate the gun for evidence, and I've heard some real horror stories about their condition when (if) returned. I'm a firm believer in reliability of a carry gun, and won't cheap out in that regard, but I'd not pay the extra for engraving on the off chance the gun ending up in the evidence lockup.

Well, life ain't much fun if you are always concerned about the "what if's." :)

However, yes it would be a bummer if it ended up locked up somewhere, but it seems like most police officers, current and retired, that hang out around here know how to treat a gun like that.

I can't believe that an engraved glock should expect the same kind of treatment though.

Richard, that's just the thing to wear when you take a drive over to AJI in the Bentley. :D

... I don't know about no Bentley, but I do believe that little guy passed through the hallowed and lively walls of AJI Sports on its way to my casa and prior to being engraved.:D AJI's is the local version of Ellis Island for most of my guns immigrating to the AZ from other parts of the US...:) ... and a mighty fine place to spend an hour or two enjoying the hustle, bustle, ambiance, guns, and gun talk of an old fashion gun shop. Jeff, Josh, Taylor, Carrissa, Larry and the rest of the folks there do a great job of making a gun guy feel comfortable.

... I can't tell from the pictures how it is finished - is it blued?

Yes. it's blued. In the photos I take of engraved guns, I try and get a good reflection off of the flat surfaces, so that the engraving stands out.

[emoji14] Just messing with you guys. No revolvers harmed in this thread. Was a 13 and a couple 65s.

But, as I mentioned....your custom Model 13 is one of my favorite guns from this site. It has inspired me to have a carry snub, probably a 60 or 640, engraved by somebody here in NC.

Dang it, and I had the Dremel out and was already sketching patterns on my Big Chief tablet.

Richard,
You Sir, have inspired and encouraged me to spur on ahead,
with my soon to be (headed to the engraver) fix sighted everyday carry S&W.

Dave

P.S. I don't care all that much about what could happen to a EDC, in the aftermath
of a social encounter. I just don't want to fall off a curb, and be found dead carrying a ugly sidearm.

Dave:

:):D:D:D Not only are you an extremely talented craftsman, you are one of the more articulately creative and colorful members of this forum. I smile every time that I read one of your posts.

I'm sure that I represent most of us - Thank you for posting!!! I cannot wait to see what I'm guessing is a fixed sighted 44 Spl modified some cool way that will now be tastefully engraved, gripped in ivory, and carried in some beautiful tooled leather...

If you have to use it for defense, etc, the police will keep it for evidence..Your heirs may get it back..Not smart for EDC!
