I've been wearing it for about 3 days. Usually in the 3:30 - 4:00 position. The butt of the gun lays on my side and it's not too comfortable. I also have a Super Tuck on the way too. im afraid it will be the same way. I'll give it a full week but was wondering if anyone else had similar experience.

I wear my Old Faithful IWB at about 04:30 - it wears more comfortably aft of the 3 o'clock position for me anyway - I didn't like it at 3-4 - but it turned out okay a bit futher aft.

Many say the comfort improves as the leather wears in and takes shape. I'll admit I haven't worn mine enough for it to do that despite having it for maybe over a year. I simply don't like it. I've only tucked a shirt over it once. Quite the pain fidgeting to get the clips over the belt.

This experience is with a SW990L compact (roughly same size as a M&P40c).

I have to wear mine really far back to be comfortable... Everything is kind of too thick to mold to the body...

Supposedly the extra thick kydex is there to help keep its shape to re-holster.

Like "S&WForty," I also find that the clips are a bit difficult to get over the belt & pants - once there it stays put.

I had a similar experience. 3-3:30 carry left a huge gap between my body and belt aft of the holster. You can diminish this by setting the ride height higher but then you get the grip digging in your rib cage.

A supertuck may help a bit as it is riveted so you get a little extra space the the grommets and screws take up on the old faithful.

The great thing about old faithful is their 30-day no questions gurantee. IF you dont like it, you get a refund. They do stand behind their product 100%.

I fully concur with GC. Further aft you wear the Old Faithful, the more comfortable it is. Check the video on their web site. I place mine so that the gun is just about at my back pocket. I can forget it's there. In this position you do need to increase the cant to about 30 degrees in order to draw the weapon smoothly. I think the gun butt against my side is an asset rather than sticking out away from you.

I do have to admit that there have been times that "I forgot it's there." I think my opinion is mostly skewed by the difficulty putting it on.

When I get the time and chance, I'll make or find better clips.

I haven't ruled out buying a new kydex piece to convert it over for my Shield. (Depends on how well I like my on-order PJ Holster and if I improve the clips.)

Of course it feels better with the Shield over my SD40VE. That's to be expected. Ill try it alittle closer to 6:00 position. But what about when you sit down. Aren't you essentially sitting on the barrel?

I carried a variety of pistols in IWB holsters for many years. Usually Summer Specials or Kramer #2's. That was when I was young and fit. Once I got a little love handle thing going in my late 30's I had to stop. IWB is for guys with no fat around their waists.

I have lost almost 25lbs making carrying in the waistband much more comfortable. Before hand the gun/holster was fighting for the same space as my fat wanted/needed.

I like the hybrid holster as it gives the most stable carry for the most consecutive hours.

There are limits for me, especially with the grip height. Though trial and error, I found a grip height that is 4.75" or less is my maximum and width and barrel length were much less of a factor. I'd guess that these numbers will vary based on body type.

So far I have this style of holster for something as small as an XDS to as large as a double stack MP9c and the XDM 45 compact. These all carry great for me, but to get there I had to experiment with several small changes to the ride height, the cant and the position on the belt. For me I ended up positioning it on the belt where the gun's rear sight lines up with the outside seam of my jeans. Speaking of belts, you are using a gun belt, right?

If the current position is not working for you, try adjusting it again. Once you find the sweet spot, it will feel most comfortable. Until you find it, it will be uncomfortable to some varying degree.

If you have tried to make it work and it still is not working for you, then send it back for a refund and try something else. Even a change in brand in this style can make a difference. While they generally look the same there can be subtle differences in their layout and implementation.

I started out in the 6:00 position and gradually worked my way counter clockwise up to appendix carry. It's been years now that I've been carrying there. You just gotta find the sweet spot.

I currently use a Kydex scabbard style holster with a single 'J' clip anchor point. It is okay but not great so I have been contemplating ordering one of the Old Faithful hybrids myself. Price is right, especially for the kits, and seems the majority of users are happy with them. They definitely stand behind what they sell. I know of no other holster maker with a 30 day money back guarantee and 50 year warranty.

If you weren't planning on ever selling it, you could drill your own holes and try moving the clips elsewhere. Keep experimenting. Try treating the leather to soften it? I had to replace the metal clips on my hybrid.. the things hurt my fingers...

IWB, Mccabe gun leather with tuckable clip worn at 10:00. Cross draw with a 30 degree rear cant. Super comfortable and gun begone!
