So I've got a nice full-size .45 M&P; a .40 SW99 both full and compact; plus all the carry guns I can't really carry all at one time.

But there are some "hot" prices on .40 M&Ps on a large auction site, like under $250 (plus shipping, FFL, and WA state tax).

Common sense says if I got an M&P in .45 and have striker-fired .40s covered in the SW99s, I don't need to buy another .40.

But damn, those are really good prices for a very fine firearm. I really, really have more than enough pistols/revolvers and should put the $$$ into upgrades. But I hate to see a bargain pass me by.

(I know I'm gonna pass on these....it just makes sense every which way...but really....)

Got this idea from a good friend who is a shrewd gun hobbyist:
Buy your preferred gun with your 401(g) dollar$ ... g stands for gun. Think of it as a form of $aving$ vs. 401(k) dollars. Guns do hold value, you can enjoy and have fun owning them - especially if bought right like you are describing.

You have a reason, rather than an excuse. You live in an anti-gun state so you better get while the getting is even possible.

If you already have .40's anyway, I'll heap temptation on you . . . . there are some smoking deals right now on Kel-tec Sub 2000 folding carbines in .40 and 9mm and on top of that Kel-tec is offering a $100 rebate on them until June 23rd . . . after rebate in the range of 3 bills - and that's new-in-the-box

Just picked it up in 9mm and took it to the range yesterday - I like it - a lot of fun and it fits in a gym bag . . . . .

There's a lot of LE trade ins around at the moment, Glocks, S&Ws, Sigs, you name it. Some of the prices are awfully tempting.

Smith and Wesson M&P .40 for 250 bucks is a great deal. A YouTube trigger polishing job or maybe an Apex sear and you have an incredible gun for a cheap price. You would never lose money on it and 40 ammo is still available at a reasonable price. I have several 9 mm, but I shoot the 40 well, and have no problem controlling it and have more confidence in it than a 9 mm for defense.

Well, the fact that you can also have them in 357 SIG for only the co$t of a barrel (and/or 9mm capability with a conversion barrel and a magazine!) would be a reason (or two!)...:D

Cheers!

What's one more added to the collection at a good price? You can't go wrong with a controllable .40 M&P and you can customize for a good price.

My wife calls hers “Mama Bear,” ‘ cause she’s just right.

Just because I want to have it, because it is on sale, because S&W will go under if I don't help them out, because it is for you dear.

I picked up this police trade in just today. Very clean, but only one mag. $335 total in my hands. It’ll get shot this week. I waited too long last run, got one this time. Basically new condition for a decent cost. They had some nice guns. Aim Sur.

Been "shootin" 40's since they came out 1989. Have an original 4006 and a 229......Then Smith started making them plastic ones......So I bought one(Shield).........Cuz I have 2 ea 5 gal buckets of brass/molds and dies.

You don't need an excuse......Buy what you like/want.
