I mucked up my extractor rod on my S&W Night Guard 327. I have disassembled my revolvers hundreds of times. Super frustrated that the first time I make a mistake it's on this one. Anyway, I have called S&W CS a few times and really haven't gotten a straight answer on a replacement part. Does anyone know if there is a drop in extractor rod for my NG? and the part number. MGW has a 327 in stock but not sure if that part will drop fit or need to be fitted.

Thanks B

How bad did you mess it up? Is it repairable? Post a few good close up pic's - we might be able to help. A bent ER can be straightened and one that's got minor scratches and small dents can usually be fixed as well.

I doubt they are any different than othe N frame rod of same barrel length and finish.

If you messed up the knurling I have redone that on sever rods with my lathe. I even cut down a full length rod to snub length and then knurled the tip.

The 327 PC barrel length is 1.7/8 or 2 inches, the NG is 2.5 inches.

Kurling on the tip is pretty bad...

I've knurled a few extractor rod tips too, but my knurling tool is coarser than what S&W uses. Doesn't bother me a bit as they look better than the messed up tip.

Update: SW emailed me today and resolved this. Sending me a new part for free. Happy with the result just odd it took that much effort. Interested in the knurling tool and a picture of the result if it's not a big effort to post it. Thx
