i need help please !!

i need help finding what year my gun was made if anybody can help it would greatly be appreciated.the srl# is 2747xx .

Welcome, but we need quite a bit more info to identify what gun it is. What is the caliber, barrel length, fixed or adjustabile sights, type of grips and shape of grip (Round or Square). Any markings on the top of the barrel, is it a tip up action, a break top action, or a swing out cylinder action? A couple of pictures will enable accurate identification.

Also, make sure that is the actual serial. Most S&Ws have the serial on the butt. Other numbers may also be present under the cylinder crane. Be sure to include any letters as many S&Ws have a letter prefix and it is a part of the serial.

o sorry it is a 38 special patented dates from Oct. 8 01 - Dec 29 14, has a 4 inch barrel, nickel plated ,pearl handle.trying to load some pics up now

It sounds like a .38 Military & Police Model of 1905-4th Change. It probably shipped from the factory around 1916.
