I had posted a question about small scopes for my 1894.
I had originally ordered Ranger Point cloverleaf peep sight, but wasnt doing it for me. Some say a scope on a lever gun is sacrilege, I say whatever helps me hit the target.
I went with Leopold 1.5-4 x 20 pig plex. In the lower priced VX line. Scope, mount, and shipping was under $250 from brownells with coupon.
Loving it. This thing is a tack driver at 100 yards and this little scope helps me do my part.
If Its still in my phone, I'll post target at 100 yards, with me shooting from standing position, no brace, no sling, just holding it to my shoulder.

One of the nice things about Marlin lever guns is, They are predrilled for several sight systems! If you don't like one after installing it, you just replace the cap screws and "It never happened!"

I set up a 45-70 Guide Gun with the AO scout rail and put a non-magnifying red dot scope on it! Works great! 50 yards, 5 shots, 3.2 seconds, 1.25 inch group!

Scopes on lever actions ARE sacrilege, BUT our eyes aren't getting any younger.
I didn't like scopes on anything until I hit my 40s.
I'm stealing your idea and getting one of those for my Marlin 1894 .44 Mag.

Have a very similar Leupold 1.75-5x on an old Marlin .30-30 'Texan' model carbine. But, it was made before Leupold ever thought about anything as exotic as matte finishes and reticles more practical than a 4-plex. Has always done great.

My own take on keeping glass off of leverguns is just on pistol caliber carbines, so I enjoy peeps/ghost rings/opens sights on those. And thankfully, I still see pretty good.

Betting you'll enjoy that setup.

I have several Marlin & Win lever guns. I won't D&T a older gun for a scope. They all had original sights and
the newer Marlins had Lyman reciever sights. Ohio got
Rifle deer season and I got excited and scoped the Marlins. I put a Weaver K3x on my 1894 44mg. It's a
nice rig and shots well but I'm going back to reciever
sights. Just like the 1895 the 1894 just doesn't feel
right to me scoped. Our shots are average under 100
yards in thick cover. Scope isn't really a plus for me.IMG_1282.JPG

I tried a laser on my 1894 44 mag. It's a Laser Devices I found cheap and used a single Weaver see-through mount. Looks ridiculous I know. At least your scope doesn't seem crazy. I'll get some photos when I get more time.

Nice set up!
I have Peep sights on mine. Tried a red dot but it was to high and I could not get used to a chin weld rather than a cheek weld.
I assume you also have to use a chin weld on the stock? Did it take some getting used it?

While I don't like scopes on a lever gun,I say it is only a matter of choice;either you choose not to like the look of the scope on the gun or you choose not to like the look of those far apart and missing holes in the target.
Looking at your target,I wish I could do the same with open sights.Since I can't,I guess I'll have to commit a sacrilege!
Nice shooting!
