I've had my horsehide IWB for my 3913 from Ray for over a month now and I just absolutely love it. I very much prefer it over the Crossbreed clone I made.

I love how it rides on me, I love how it feels, I love how I can slide it back easily if I want because the leather belt loops fit perfectly. On my self-made holster the clips bite into the belt which then can bind and just be a bit uncomfortable.

Soooooo... I was really happy to order my next holster!!! This one is going to be for my Shield. I want to see what magic Ray can do to make a Shield comfortable for summer carrying. I again went with horsehide and IWB.

I think I will just keep ordering holsters as long as Ray is willing to make them. I told him to let me know if he ever plans on retiring, as I'll take out a loan and order a Lobo holster for every gun I own and every one I have on my grail list!! :D

My only question: For you guys that have a Lobo in cowhide or an OWB, should I be considering something other than the horsehide IWB model???

You order and wear what you're most comfortable with. I have several Lobo creations (all OWB) and each is perfectly suited for the task at hand. My favorite is a Threepersons rig Ray made for my 696. I have unlined and lined Lobo holsters, and I think my future purchases will all be lined.

I bought an IWB N-Frame rig from Ray a year or so ago. Absolutely love it. Very comfortable and easily conceals my 3,4 and 5 inch N-Frames in total comfort. Turnaround time was fast and prices are VERY reasonable.
If you want a good holster, check his website.

What does the lining do??

.

The leather lining makes the holster thicker, but also provides a smoother surface for the handgun to seat against. It's really just personal preference, as Ray's work is top notch with anything you order. The full flap field holster (for my 624 snub) that I've mentioned numerous times in other posts is as tough as a well worn saddle.

I have quite a few of his holsters, not sure how many but it's a bunch. Since I've recently gone on yet another K frame buying binge I will soon be ordering more leather from Lobo too....

I own a few Lobo holsters in both cowhide and horsehide. The horsehide he molded was amazing for an IWB he made for my 686. It's thin, dissappears behind a belt and yet sturdy.

I also like the cowhide but recommend them in either brown or natural tan. A black one I had ordered was staining my pants for a few weeks until it wore in. He does mention this can happen with black holsters on his site.

Really hope Ray is thinking about training someone to carry the business on for when he someday retires. I've yet to find a better holster for the money.

As a lefty, finding quality holsters is somewhat of a challenge. I have two Lobo holsters and am very fond of both as well as this opportunity to post the pictures of Roy's fine work yet one more time!

I have a horsehide IWB for my M64 revolver and a cowhide OWB for my 45C.

I think you ought to just send Ray a list of each gun you need a holster for and have him put you on a "standing order" for 1 Holster per month....until that list is exhausted! ;)

Great idea!!! :D

I think I will do that! Thanks!

To 357 Revolver guy: He's training someone, has been for years I understand. But I still want a Ray holster. Even if he isn't making them every day. I know he is watching the holsters go out the door. I bet nothing gets out that isn't up to standards.

I may ask him to sign the next one. I have it on order... Someday it may be worth millions!!! :D

Ray, I know you are watching these threads, and I just want to say thank you for the work you do.

I have seen comparable leather, comparable stitching, comparable finishes, but I have never seen the entire package all wrapped up in one.

Seriously folks, if you ever wanted a great leather holster, I really think you should give Ray a look.

And if by chance I am wrong, wet-behind-the-ears, or whatever, please PM me and tell me who makes a better holster so I can try that guy's too!!

I am new to this only carrying for a year or so, so pm me and let me know if I'm being naive!!

Don't have any IWB in horse hide so can't give a comparison recommendation. I do have 2 enhanced pancakes for my 2" and 3" 64's.

The 2" is smooth lined and the gun slides in and out like butter, but still has more than required retention. I also had the hammer shield option on the 2" as the hammer is not bobbed. All orders from now on will be smooth lined with the hammer shield. Just absolutely superb holsters.

Got the order completion email yesterday from Ray informing me that my 3rd holster order for my J frames is shipping. Time to order another.:)

Thanks Ray, your craftsmanship is much appreciated. Mike

I just ordered a Lobo. It'll be my first from this company. I have not found another holster for my model 60 that I'm happy with, I hope this is it.

If everything goes as planned, I'll be recieving an enhanced pancake for my 40 later this month. It'll be my first holster from Lobo; I'm hoping it solves my J-frame holster woes.
