Hey everyone, I'm giving my gun collection a face lift and have been deciding on either an M&P 9 or a Walther PPQ 9 for the herd. Today I compared them both and my small hands liked the feel of the M&P more than the Walther's, however the trigger in the PPQ was nothing short of phenomenal: light, short pull, no creep and a crisp break. The M&P's trigger was heavier and gritty feeling.
I left the store unsure of what to do so I decided to go check out a range that just opened and they had an M&P 9 to rent so I gave it a try. I really, really liked it! I'm a 1911 guy but I am pretty sure this pistol can make me very happy!!! It can be a game changer for me. The trigger on the range gun was still heavier than the PPQ but it didn't have that gritty feel and was definitely tolerable. I wonder if the triggers smooth out with time. I was really impressed firing the M&P, the recoil was very light and it was very accurate. The gun looked very well used and considering how dirty the gun was it ran without a hitch.

I'm think I'll buy the M&P 9 and with the $100 bucks I save by not getting the PPQ I will put towards Apex parts to improve the trigger if I can't get used to it!!! I think it will be a heck of a sidearm!!!!

Well thanks for listening!

I have both the MP 45 and more recently added the MP 9.

I love both guns! Both very accurate and well regulated for 230 and 124 grain bullets.

Both are very soft shooting for caliber. No malfunctions with either weapon. Guessing around 600 rounds through the 45 and perhaps 200 rounds through the 9mm.

Love the triggers on both. MP 45 probably just a bit lighter due to more use, but both have a nice clean break.

BTW... Leaving both stock!

Best

Be forewarned, most people don't stop at one M&P. I started with a Shield 9 which led to a 40FS and then the 9c! They are addicting. :D

Good choice. The trigger does smooth out with use but you can accelerate the process with the APEX USB or polishing the existing one.

Go for the M&P. They do multiply. We have several. They also have a lot more accessory support for important items such as holsters, sights, etc.

I started with the shield 9, then the m&p22, now I'm looking at a 40c.

My Glocks are justifiably getting jealous.

If only they may an M&P 10mm...
