I did something sorta dumb last week. I went down an ordered a M&P 2.0 compact. Ended up ordering the 4" as nobody my dealer buys from had a 3.6 with no safety. Got a decent deal. Took delivery on Tue. Went out in the country and fired several magazines of ball ammo and it is everything I hoped it would be. Now comes the dumb part. I already own several full size M&Ps. A VTAC in 40 S&W, a shield in 40 an E-Z in 9 and a full size in 45 acp. So, I had only a want and not a need. As we all know, the compact isn't. As a matter of fact it is larger than most of the full size gen 3 guns. Ya. I got Some of them also. But I knew that when I bought it. Anyway the issue is that at my age and current physical status when I do carry, I carry the smaller pistols or small revolvers I own. I should be thinning the herd and not buying more. This new shooter is what the original M&P should have been. I just really like everything about this 2.0. But as I didn't spend any money that should have gone elsewhere, it is OK. Like I tell my friends: It is gonna' be a heck of a yard sale! I going to shoot the snot out of it, at the range, until I can't push ammo into the magazine anymore. What I am going to say next will probably cause serious upsets in the lower quadrant for many of you. I like the 40 S&W better than the 9mm, so that is what I bought. And just to grind it in a little, I think the 40 is everything the 9 wishes it was(even with the improvements in ballistics over the last 25 years) By the way, I do own a serious number of 9s also but like the 40 better.
