I wanted a 5906...

A handy tool for pushing out the slide stop is a "toe" of the magazine base plate.

Non-marring and right there with you.

John

I do that. And u use the take down pin to hold down the mag disconnector & hammer block lever while putting the slide back on.

I've heard of using a tool to hold down the frame levers while installing the slide, but I've never figured out how to do that.

I've got the slide in my left hand and the frame in my right hand.

By that point, I've run out of hands. :(

So I just reach up with my right thumb and press down on the levers.

That way I can still wipe my nose on my sleeve. :D

GOT IT!!!!

I'm super happy with the pistol. Aside from those tiny cosmetic issues it seems to be in great shape. Gotta give feedback to my seller. EXCELLENT.:):):)

PS: See my 5943 thumbnail up top??

You must be able to tell a fib. I bet you don't get to say anything about the clothes the wife buys. If she gives you too hard of a time. Just replace her with a Puppy.

Jeppo beat me to it. For years, I've used the tapered end of a wooden chop stick stick to push out slide stops.

BTW, I'm a fan of the 5900 series, and 3rd. Gen guns in general..

...we've already got a puppy. And Missus Smiff is pretty top-notch. She LIKES guns. As long as I keep it between the lines, anyway.:D
