I have been sleeping in my lift chair because of the skin problems with my legs and now the torn-up arm. I usually go to sleep with a cap on because my bald head gets cold. It invariably falls off during the night and lands behind and to the left of the chair.
Yesterday morning went as normal, my cap was behind my chair. I retrieved
it with my grabber, gave it a few shakes and slapped it on my head. About fifteen minutes later as I was setting at the bar eating a muffin something felt funny about my cap. I then felt movement and took my cap off. There crawling in my cap was a nice size scorpion. Why it didn't bite me I don't know, the good Lord must have protected me.

I was 12 when my parents and I moved from NJ to Arizona. One of the first things my dad told me was to put my shoes upside down at night and always shake them in the morning before putting them on LOL.

In high school I had a girlfriend with a really sweet German Shepherd, poor pooch got stung on the nose, it swelled up to the size of a tennis ball-thankfully no other reaction. After a couple of days we were able to laugh about it. Scorpions are nasty little things.

Wow Graydon, you really were lucky. If it were me I'd have screamed like a lunatic, then had a heart attack. What did you do with it after you saw it?

Just heard a funny story story from my Aunt Gloria. She missed the couch when she sat down and wound up on the floor, unable to get up. She pushed the "First Alert" button on the pendant she wears to get help. She said six gorgeous firemen came into her living room then lifted her onto her couch and made sure she was okay. I think it was quite the thrill for her. Now that was luck.
