Hey, Wiregrass neighbor! Welcome to the forums. As DWalt has stated, it is a .38 M&P, Model 1905, 4th Change from the mid-1920's. S&W first produced these guns in 1899 and they have been in continuous production since. (Well, someone will point out production was suspended during WWI.) Today, its ancestors are known as the Model 10. They are very popular revolvers with about 7 million produced since introduction.
