My Home Kegger
In about '74 I built a home keg unit from an old Frigidaire. The beer distributor was very happy to provide (sell me) all the plumbing and explain how to keep it operating. I had to buy a small CO2 bottle to pressurize the system.
Keg beer, kept below 54+/- F, pressurized w/CO2 (the absence of "air"), will keep many weeks. The keg beer is unpasturized and will spoil when exposed to air at higher temps. Disassembly, scrubbing, and a mild bleach rinse, of the tap and tubing when changing the keg was all that was required.
I would order a keg at the local beverage pkg store. The distributor kept my system in good shape with fresh seals, O-rings, new faucets, ect. I kept beer on tap in the garage for about twenty five years until the old Frigidaire gave up.
Here's a link about draught beer, kegs, and info:

After I built the system, I noticed a lot more neighbors stopping by for a lawn-care break on hot days!
