Hello all. I'm new here and I hope that I'm posting this in the right area. I was given an S & W revolver after my dad's passing and I'd like to as much information as possible on it. Unfortunately, the original box and paperwork are nowhere to be found.
All I do know is that it is a model 34-1, .22 L.R., 2" barrel, 6 shot, blued. It looks like the serial # is B A B 86XX.
If I can figure out how to attach some pic's I will. Thank you all in advance!

Welcome from Arizona, someone information the 34-1 was introduced in 1960, your version does not have the pinned barrel which happened in 1982, the first year that B series serial number appears is 1988 and I see BAC, but not BAB. also the stocks are not original, a very nice gun.

Welcome to the Forum. Those two inch 34s are great little guns and that one appears to be in very good condition. The SN indicates it was made at the end of the -1s, probably 1988. Without the box and papers where I shop I'd expect to see it priced at around $750 although having belonged to your dad it is priceless.

Model 34-1 is a .22-.32 Kit gun.
Yours is a 2" round butt, they were also made with 4" barrel and square butt in any combination, I have a 2" square butt.

Assuming the prefixes are alphabetic when not shown in the book, yours was made in 1988.
