OK, gonna hijack this a bit....... I have a 25-2 .45 acp. What is difference between them?

A local has a 25-5 in a display box for sale currently. I won't need much of an excuse for getting it......

A 25-2 is a revolver - N frame Smith & Wesson - in 45 ACP. The 25-3, 25-4 and 25-5 are all in 45 Colt - a much longer round and a far different caliber.

I have a couple myself. The 8 3/8"er is very accurate at 25 yards, and I have never fired the 4". Maybe someday. Big Larry

Steve Mizerak is not the same person as Minnesota Fats. I actually got to meet Fats not long before he died. He was in super bad shape, mentally & physically.

Mizerak died in 2006.

When I first got cable in the early 1980s, ESPN hosted a "Legends of Pool" series. Among them were Fats, Mosconi, Mizerak & UJ Pucket. Fats never stopped talking during his games.

Mosconi actually hated playing pool, according to his bio. He played in order to help support his family. He agreed to be in Thorogood's video but only if he didn't play. So they got Bo Diddley to be the other player. It worked out well.

I believe that the OP is looking for an approx. shipping date for his Model 25-5. Per the s/n (N659568) it was likely manufactured in 1979. Anyone have one with a close s/n and a S&W lettered shipping date, or perhaps an educated guess? If not, he'll have to order a letter from S&W.
