I received this some time ago, wanted to verify, unfortunately my SS is scribe on the barrel
Hello
This is not a "Police Special." S&W never made a revolver with that name.
Assuming the gun is chambered for the .38 Special, what you have is a .38 Military & Police Model of 1905, 4th Engineering Change. Your serial number points to the mid-1920s, probably 1926. The stocks are period correct, the medallion being absent from approximately 1920-1929.
The reason you cannot find a model number is that S&W did not assign model numbers to its hand ejector revolvers until 1957 - 30 years after this gun was made.
The condition of this revolver is good, but not remarkable. I would place its value in the $400 range, assuming all parts are original and the left side looks the same as the right.
