It's a 5 shot "J" frame Model 37 Airweight in 38 Special with a 3" (desirable) barrel. Someone with a book can tell you when it was shipped from the factory (If she bought it new in the box, I'm guessing around '73-'74 time frame).

Value is dependent on condition, but call it $250 if very worn and $450 or so if new in original box with contents.

It was new when bought and has only been shot once. It looks like new now but has no box.
