Identify year made

Hi all,

I have my grandfather's Model 36 Chief's Special and would like to know the year it is made. The number on the butt is 405765. Inside is the number 52050, with a "Q" under that then a "6" below that. Thanks for your help.

The other numbers are assembly and fitters/inspection marks. The gun was probably shipped about 1964-1965. Hope that helps.

Welcome to the Forum. The serial number is the one from the butt. As diamondback stated, the marks on the frame are assembley numbers.
