Hello everyone,

Several monthes ago, I bought a Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector, 32 S&W Long caliber.

I believe my gun was made in 1924 but I am not sure. Do you have any information about my revolver?

The frame is round butt. When the cylinder is open, we can read "17942". On the bottom of the butt: "399077". There are other markings on the butt: several "B" and one "F" but I don't think they will be helpul.

Thank you very much for your help.
Have a nice day.

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! I believe your 1924 date is correct. I, too, am surprised that the serial number is on the bottom of the butt frame instead of the front strap. I wonder if that is an aspect of foreign sales? Do your cylinder and barrel serials match the butt?

Welcome aboard.
Show us a pic of the backstrap with the grips off, please. I wonder if it is a HE that was altered to use the square butt grips.

Thank you very much for your answers!

The serial number is the same on the cylinder, the barrel and the butt: "399077" everywhere.

Here are other pictures of the gun.

You do indeed have a ".32 Hand Ejector" model but with a home modified rd butt grip frame to accept the ".32 Regulation Police" model extended conversion grips. They are essentially the same gun.

I agree, highly likely shipped in 1924. Unless it has the 2nd style hammer block safety mounted in the side plate which was ordered for the I frame Nov 6th 1925.
