Idle hands

Been thinking about building a pneumatic reloading press for a while. I dont have a rotator cuff on my right shoulder and the left is torn so some operations with the press are difficult. Anyway, decided to build one with a pneumatic cylinder, pedal to operate. Tried it this evening sizing and depriming 556. Worked great. Still have a little clean-up, painting to do.

I moved to hydraulic for 12 & 28 gage, wish I had done it 10 years ago. However, not custom built.

I'm jealous of that Chevy Pickup. What year is that? Back around 1971 when I worked at a golf course on the greens crew the course had a 67 in that color with a dump rear box and a 427 under the hood.

Something like that might be helpful. My problem is wonky shoulders fatigued by holding my arm basically straight out at my side, feeding cases or components into the press. Standing alleviates that to a point but then the press handle is way too low.

The truck is a late 1972 called the “highlander”. It was a custom grade with some Cheyenne upgrades like tilt wheel. Mine has original 350 engine, automatic tranny, rebuilt.

I can move myself up and down easy enough. More height for my backside means the handle is too low and I lose line of sight on what I'm doing. An automated handle could be interesting.
