What would they be?
My choice:
Glock 22 (.40)
Springfield M1a (308)
Ruger single 10 (22lr)
Mossberg 12 gauge
S & W 629 (44 mag)

I assume if only allowed 5 it would be for a survival situation. So...

Ruger 10-22 takedown
S&W 28-2 6"
FN P 9mm
Remington 870 12ga
Winchester m70 .30-06

If it were "just because", I would chose (5) $250,000 double barrels.

S&W Model 10 blued 4 inch heavy barrel

S&W Model 36 blued 2 inch barrel

S&W Model 617 .22 caliber revolver 4 inch barrel 10 shot cylinder

Winchester model 1866 in .38 special

M1 carbine

5 guns

a 12 ga Beneli sbe with extended magazine & 2 bbl.'s, a 24" scoped & rifled and a 24"smoothbore (if it counts as 1 gun, if not lose the rifled bbl) with removable chokes, a 20" bbl 308 bolt & 2x7 scope, a 22lr rifle either a Winchester lever & open sights or Ruger all weather & 3x9 scope, a S&W mdl 10 pinned 3" bbl 357, and a sig 226 9mm. if a shtf situation happened the availability of ammo for these guns are why I picked them.

But I only have four, and I like them!

I'd swap out the elderly, battered 12ga. side-by-side for an Ithaca 37, keep the Marlin 39A and the 640 no-dash and 10-5 4" standard barrel, and add a 3913.

A winchester 92 in .357 (Converted or copy browning 92 or rossi puma).
A Winchester, ithica or remingtlon pump 12 gauge.
A s&w 4" model 34 .22 lr.
A s&w 3" model 66-3 357 or python
A s&w 4" model 24-3 .44 special or 25-5 4" 45 colt.

HK 91
Beretta 1201FP 12 ga
Model 19-3,4,5 doesn't matter
Model 18-3
CZ75B 9mm with .22 Kadet kit.

I'm glad I don't need to make this choice for real. Joe

1911 in .45ACP
.357/.38 sp Carbine
Model 19
Model 60
12 gauge SXS Shotgun

This assuming unlimited reloading supplies for .38/.357.

Also, I would pick a different set of five for my wife.;)

They would be:
1911 in .45ACP
Model 63 S&W
Model 39A Marlin
Model 15 S&W
Rossi 92 Trapper .357/.38

Glock 17 with an Advantage Arms 22lr conversion
870 12ga
Quality ar-15 with a low power optic
S&W ar15-22 with the same optic
S&W 442

The bulk of my shooting is three gun competition. I use the 22lr for practice.

The 442 is my edc. These are the only 5 guns I pretty much use now.

Hmmmm...
S&W LH 24-3
S&W 65 Ladysmith
FNFAL metric version
Mossberg 500C combo
Savage bolt action in .22mag w/ 4x scope
:D
Chipmunk6

Colt SAA .45 (blacked) w/ Sandstone grips.
1917 DWM Artillery Luger.
MG-42.
MP-40.
And the Remington-Rand Colt .45 I once had.

In no particular order:

. Colt AR-15 LE6920 .223
. Ruger 10/22 carbine .22LR
. S&W 24-3 Lew Horton 3" N-Frame .44spl
. Glock 36 compact semi auto .45auto
. Glock 21 Full size semi auto .45auto

If we were allowed to have 6 my last choice would be my Ruger SP101 .357mag 3" stainless

Lets see....

I would pick five of the most valuable firearms I could find, real ultra collectibles...

I would then auction them all to the highest bidders...

And use the money to fill my safes with what I REALLY wanted...

I hate being "Limited to" anything, especially guns. Oh yea, with the remainder of my cash, I would build a nice beach home, maybe in NC, and purchase a nice 30 -34 foot sports fisherman....:)

That's a difficult question without knowing if we are talking about subsistence, modern home defense (rural or urban), concealed carry, or zombie apocalypse?

1. Ruger 10-22
2. Remington 870 12 Gauge
3. Remington Model 700 .308
4. S&W Model 629
5. Ma Deuce .50 BMG
