If you could only have 5 firearms

What I have on hand now (AKA easy access)

1) Remington 700 or Savage 110 in 30-06.

2) Winchester 61 Pump action rifle in 22 S/L/LR.

3) Remington 870 UltraMag Pump action shotgun in 12 gauge with 20" cantilever scope mount rifled
and 28" smooth bore barrels, cut for Briley Choke Tubes.

4) M1A/M14S (Springfield vs. PolyTech)

5) 1911/1911A1 (Any number of configs and manufacturers)

If I could have a #6 BUG it would be my 48-3. It will shoot
anything that will fit in one of the the two cylinders, (Yea, I
had a 22LR fitted to it). I got the 22LR cylinder from
member VM and fitting work by member Tennexplorer via
Keith Warner Gun smithing in Memphis. I've fired 17HM2
through the 22LR and 17HMR through the 22Mag cylinder.
While accuracy is not match grade it will still put a rabbit
in the pot at 25 yards.

Class III

Ill go with 3 of the guns I currently own (out of 4)
M1 garand
442 airweight
FNX 9

and then the other two
AR 15 223
benelli semi auto shot gun

Just fired the M1 garand today... I would haul that around no problem knowing it should drop anything its pointed at in my "neck of the woods"

To change out the pistol I would go for a 40 caliber glock... if some serious bad stuff went down it would be nice to be armed with what most police departments carry for ammo and parts availability.

I live in AMERICA and will not be limited on firearms!!!

I'm with this guy

I like playing hypotheticals as much as the next guy, but nobody tells me to pick just five. If I ever (by Law) had to pick five to keep, I guess I would pick the cheapest pieces o **** I owned.
Everything else would get buried.

A .22 of some kind...can't decide on a rifle or handgun

So get a Thompson Center Contender with both .22lr pistol and rifle barrels and stocks. You could even sub-divide into 4 barrels - one of each with iron sights and one of each with a scope.

Another possibility would be the Rossi Youth 20 Gauge/.22 LR./.243 Win Combo Shotgun with Interchangeable Barrels. It would only count as one gun.

For a SHTF Scenario.........

DPMS LR-308. scoped
12-Gauge pump shotgun
S&W MP-15
FNP-45, 15-rounds per magazine
Springfield Armory 1911

For fun/pleasure/relaxation:
Marlin 357 Carbine
CZ-527 in 223
Browning Buckmark in 22LR
Marlin 1895 in 45-70
S&W 624 no dash in 44 Special!

1. Nazis Gustav gun made entirely of 24K gold.
2. Something with enough firepower to protect the gun.

If your talking survival guns:
1. Any large caliber (perhaps a 300 wsm) bolt action mountain gun.
2. Ruger mini-14
3. Ithaca 37 in 20ga.
4. SW 686
5. air rifle to plink small game quietly.

For pleasure and fun in no particular order (way too many choices):
1. Ruger No. 1
2. Sharps 1877 Creedmore falling block rifle
3. any K gun O/U
4. Thompson M1A1
5. Colt 1911A1

I'll play, from my collection.
1) 1911 in .45 cal
2) Mossberg Maverick 88
3) S&W M&P22
4) Savage .22 MKII (with a suppressor that also fits the M&P22)
5) Remington 700BDL in 7mm mag.
I am assuming this is a SHTF scenario. I will admit, I would think of replacing either the M&P22 or the Remington 700 with an AR-15 (also suppressed). Choice is dictated by availability of parts and ammo and actual need in an emergency situation for personal defence and possible hunting. A .22 rifle and a 12 gage shotgun are must haves.

1 Marlin 1894 -.44 mag with Skinner peep sights
2 S&W 629 6 inch .44 mag With CT Laser grips
3 S&W 686 4 inch .357 mag with CT Laser grips
4 S&W Outdoorsman .22 LR
5 Ruger LCR .357 mag with CT Laser grips

If I am limited to 5 that means the SHTF.
In order of my perceived importance
1) A light, accurate. 22lr rifle.
2) 12 gauge shotgun, double gun or a repeater
3) A centerfire repeating rifle suitable for medium to large game.

The first 3 are primary for putting food on the table, but can be used in secondary defence roles.

4) .38 or 357 combat Revolver
5) .45acp Handgun

The last two are for varmints that may get close.

from my collection I would choose
Kimber .22 Hunter
12 gauge coach gun
Winchester M70 .30-06
4" S&W 586
Full sized S&W M&P45

Pretty traditional:

Ithaca 37 12 gauge with tubes;
Sako deluxe LH '06 with 3-9x scope;
Remington 581 .22 with 4x scope;
Marlin 94c .357 with peep sight;
S&W Model 66 4".

Guess no need to do much shopping.

Regards,

Dyson

1.)Glock 19 (9mm)
2.)S&W Model 49 revolver (.38 Spl)
3.)S&W Model 65 revolver (.357 Magnum)
4.)Browning Buckmark Camper pistol (.22LR)
5.)Remington 870 Police shotgun (12 Gauge)

Interesting question. I reckon I would go with:
1. Winchester pre-64 Model 70 in 30/06
2. Beretta 391 in 12 ga
3. CZ 455 .22 LR
4. S&W 4" M29 .44 Mag
5. Colt 1911A1 .45 ACP or a good clone of some sort

Might swap the S&W for an FAL in 7.62. Need to think about that.

22 lr rifle (likely a Sig 522 or CZ 452)
12 ga shotgun (Mossberg 930)
308 rifle (Steyr SSG 69)
9mm pistol (likely a G17 but possibly a M&P)

One spare position which will either be another 22 lr rifle or a AR 15 in .223.

Here is an even harder question for you: what would you pick if you were only able to have one firearm? (My pick is a good 22 rifle).

Out
West

If I had to get rid of all of my firearms and only keep five:
Ruger 10/22
Remington 700 .30-'06
Ithica 37 12ga.
S&W Mod.63 .22 LR
Colt Government Model Series 70 .45acp

All would be practical choices:

Mossberg 12ga.
Springfield XDM
Glock 23
S&W Shield 9mm
S&W Bodyguard

1. Russian Izmash Saiga in 223 rem.
2. Chinese Norinco SKS in 7,62x39 russian
3. Chinese Norinco 1911a1 in 45acp
4. Russian Izmash Saiga in 308win
5. Russian SVT-40 Tokarev sniper rifle.

Nothin but battle proven designs.
