$1k is a fair price for a 646, but if it's a 610 you want, get one. 610 prices have become more reasonable lately...it seems anyway. The fact that a 610 shoots 10mm is the perfect reason to own one, and having the option of stepping down to the cheaper .40 for plinking is an added bonus.
btw...a local collector is selling his 3" Model 13 (forgot the dash #). That might be my Christmas gift to me.
I would feel really really really guilty if i buy it because i have not bought gifts for anyone else yet.....just kidding. I would never feel guilty for buying a Smith. i'll call him later today to see if it's still available.
