Tried opening my Cox Webmail this AM and got some suspicious page from OKTA wanting me to set up an account using cci-res. First thing it wanted was a security question setting up. Where's that octopus doing the Nope thing when you need him.:(

Update: The "extra" stage was removed during the middle of the day. I was accessing my webmail directly at myemail.cox.net. If I went through from cox.com there was no issue.

If you are using ANY webmail or email, be careful. Email scams are rampant these days. Crooks are taking advantage of the Covid 19 to try to scam people out of money.

Cox has done some "updating" recently and their email has been wonky and inconsistent. I assume they are still working out some of the bugs in their update. I just hope it happens soon.

I quit using cox email several years ago because it was unreliable. If I couldn't get into my cox account... no email either. I have a secure private email that I won't mention but use yahoo for boring stuff. I keep several junk mail accounts for thing where a email is required to frustrate tracking and spammers. I hate all the email providers trying to collect data on user and was fortunate my yahoo accounts predate that requirement, though they constantly pester me to give it to them.
