With the hail storm well behind us I'm still getting text messages from roofing companies.

None of the texts had a "stop" option and for a while I thought they might be spam. One text that I had received multiple times before addressed me by name. I considered this a little too aggressive by how far they went to get my attention so I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint.

My complaint basically said that when you inject yourself into my privacy and don't offer me the ability to "opt out" I will take action against you.

It didn't take long before I received an apology with an explanation. This company admitted to using a third party for soliciting business and said I would no longer be bothered in the future.

The company is "Integrity Pro Roofing" operating out of Denver and Colorado Springs.

Storm chasers of all types are frequent contacts in our area in the spring and early summer due to our tornadoes and the texts, e-mails and door knocks get aggravating. My front door is VERY clearly posted for NO SOLICITING OR TRESPASSING but apparently they can't read. I just threw an energy company guy off the property this week who was becoming belligerent. For text that I can't block, I usually send a response that is direct and rather rude, to leave me alone. I have filed complaints with the state and ftc over violations of the Do Not Call List and I have seen a few of the offenders subsequently fined in later news reports.
