I just got this from the Illinois State Rifle Association. IL residents, please read this and do your part.

"URGENT ALERT – YOUR ACTION REQUIRED

MIKE MADIGAN READY TO INSULT YOUR INTELLIGENCE ONCE AGAIN

Mike Madigan is ticked off...

Why is Mike Madigan so ticked off? Quite simply, he's ticked off because the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals has told him plainly that the legislature must bow to constitutional authority – not to the whims of Mike Madigan. And we all know what a control freak Mike Madigan is.

No, Mike Madigan is no longer in control of the concealed carry debate. The courts have said once and for all that Illinois will join 49 other states in allowing citizens to carry defensive firearms.

The court has really ticked Madigan off...

Mike Madigan is so ticked off that he plans to introduce his own version of a concealed carry bill early next week. Of course, under Madigan's carry bill, the only people who would be allowed to carry would be... um... nobody.

Although the details of Madigan's concealed carry bill (HB1155) have not yet been released, those close to Madigan are saying that it will be the most restrictive concealed carry bill in the nation.

One insider termed Madigan's proposal, "...the closest thing to no-carry at all."

WHAT YOU MUST DO TO STOP MADIGAN'S INSULTING BILL

1. Beginning first thing Monday morning, call your state representative and politely tell them that you are a law-abiding firearm owner and that you oppose Madigan's insulting HB1155 and that you would like them to vote against the bill.

2. Pass this alert on to all your friends and family members and ask them to call their state representatives as well.

3. Please post this alert to any and all Internet blogs or bulletin boards to which you belong.

If you do not know who your state representative is, please click the link below and you will be able to identify your representative and get their Springfield phone number.

Speak up and stop this Madigan bill!
First thing Monday I will call and send emails. Spread the word.

I will call my rep. This is NOT a done deal folks. These people are not just going to roll over and obey the courts decision. They are going to do everything they can to subvert it. CALL YOUR REPS!

Oh I am positive that Mike Madigan, Lisa Madigan, Rahm Emanuel and Pat Quinn are all in a huff right now. This conceal and carry thing in Illinois is far from over.

If you are not already a member, please join the Illinois State Rifle Association. Illinois State Rifle Association It is an excellent group, and a major force for affecting 2A rights in Illinois. If you are a member, you will always be informed of anything that affects your rights and the best avenues for making your voice heard.

Also, I recommend checking out the Illinois Carry forum. IllinoisCarry.com The people there are extremely well informed about what is going on.

I seem to be the person posting the most information about Illinois 2A issues here right now. These two places are where I get my information.

66park, we definitely have to keep the pressure on. MADIGAN is no good. I have called , emailed and sent in witness slips, every time I ge an alert from Illinoiscarry.com

According to our local news tonight, some of the restrictions being looked at are:

-20 hours of classroom training time
-20 hours of live fire training time
-1 million dollars worth of liability insurance

That last one is just... Wow.

Glad all those gang bangers already picked theirs up.

Thanks for that info. I am not opposed to the training time. People need to be trained. But the liability insurance is ridiculous.

They had some video from the deliberations today at the state house on the nightly news. The list of places that you can't carry (or the proposed list they're working on anyway) is enormous. Hope nobody likes to travel by train.

It's getting "Hot and Heavy" in Springfield! They definitely don't want guns on the trains that run in Chi Town. Reasoning is this...there are already too many people being shot on the trains, too many drunks, can't have any more guns there! It would compound the problem!

It would be really nice if they would check out some statistics on concealed carry. They might realize that the legal concealed carry holders will not compound the problem. They will just have a way to defend themselves (and potentially unarmed citizens as well) against the criminals. It would seem that the knowledge that there were people legally carrying concealed handguns on the train might actually serve as a deterrent to the criminal element.

66Park,

Your statement holds much truth in a social group made up of thoughtful people. I'll stop there, and you can look deeply into my first statement.
