I thought if I'd get a smile out of you that you'd be more willing to help me, hence the title of this thread.

I don't have any of my books handy and eventually, I'll request a ship date on the SWCA side of the forum; however, in the meantime can someone give me the general vicinity of a ship date for a Model 41, SN A135078?

Thank you in advance,

RKmesa,

Model 41 #A135109 was shipped on 9/13/1971. Yours should have been shipped close to this but remember S&W did not ship in serial number order.

Did we meet in Glendale this weekend?

Hey Richard, Welcome to the other side. Your Model 41 shipped between July and December of 1971 but as Bastogne71 mentioned, they were not shipped in order. Great seeing you in Glendale and loved your engraved gun display. You surely have one of the best collections on planet earth!

Maybe. I had the display of 13 engraved revolvers. I also did a presentation on Friday morning about engraving. And we may have spoken briefly about the Model 41... :)

Yes we did meet and talked about different styles of engraving. Sorry about remembering guns better than names. I told you my favorite was oak & acorn common to German engraving.

The invoice, dated 9/11/1959, with my model 41 being one of ten in the shipment has serial numbers starting with #12112 and ending with #18894. A good example of the futility of dating S&W guns by serial number without the factory records. Good luck in getting through to Roy Jinks to get a verified date for your M41.
