After much thought and comtemplation (are they different? lol) I've decided to part ways with my 9 Compact. Mine shoots great, it actually has a very good factory trigger with audible reset (made April 2013) and I added a beautiful textured small backstrap/tool from our forum member that was offering them before he deployed.

There's not a single thing wrong with it but I just really like the way the fs fits/points/handles. Please don't hate me, I'll still be a M&Per just with a different version.

I'm offering it to my older son if he wants he when he gets back from his deployment-he mentioned once he wanted to get one-I know my daughter in law likes the way it fits in her hand. At least that way it stays in the family haha. I also have a really great custom holster for it that was made by a friend of mine with an area pd. He's been making both leather and kydex holsters for quite a while and they are first rate.

As soon as I hear from my son the search will be on.

Yep. The FS is a fantastic feeling gun. I actually sold my 92fs to have some extra money and get my FS.

Not getting rid of anything, just want to add a FS 40 to go with my Shield. When handling the FS it fits my hand like it was designed for it.

No sense owning a gun that doesn't fit. A few months back I was trying to decide between a Shield and a Compact. I was at a match where S&W had a display table set up, so I was able to hold both a Shield and a Compact M&P. I knew instantly that based on the feel of the gun in my hand, the Shield was the right choice for me. Don't get distracted by magazine capacity, or any other secondary issues, choose the gun that fits your hand the best.

Next to my beloved 1911s the M&P is my next favorite semi auto. I learned to shoot with a 1911 almost 46 years ago, in all that time one type of 1911 or another was my preferred pistol.

Smith did very well in the design and implementation of this pistol for my money.
