Just for a minute! I found this beauty a few weeks ago and had to have it. It's a 629-2 Classic hunter. It has the Hogue rubber grips that it came with, but they had to go in favor of some targets.

Action is tight as a drum. I plan on shooting specials for the most part, but will occasional shooting of magnums loosen it up? I do not believe this gun has the endurance package.

I have an original Model 29 (no endurance package) and it has at least 10,000 rounds of cast bullet loads through it with no observable wear.

My practice load is 23.0 grs of H110 and my hunting load is 24.0 grs of H110 (max load is 25.0 grs). All loads using either the Lyman 429421 (250 gr Keith) or the H&G #503 (250 Keith).

If the Smith's are loaded with some restraint, they will shoot forever. If not, then you are on your own.

Your 629 is late enough I suspect it has the endurance package. However, if you load within the parameters I have stated, it should be no problem whatsoever.

I cringe when I see people set their firearms on cement or rocks for a photo-op.

Well you can PM me your pictures of the snubbies you obviously
no longer need. I'll gladly take them off your hands cheaply of
course. Nice looking "long barrel"...

What's all the extra barrel for?

Whilst ya'll are scarfing up snubbies at exhorbitant prices us quiet types are sittin' back getting bargains on longer barrel guns. I, for one, don't want to stuff a short barreled M29 down into my shorts, especially just after I shot it.

In a couple of years, when the worm turns again. Guess who's gonna have all the long barreled guns?

Hey, i can't stuff a short barrel down my shorts or long
barrel for that matter, no room !!!! Haha BTW, glad that
someone is buying the long barreled guns. There needs
to be some folks out there who shoots those short rifles.

I like this particular variant as well (same exact gun as your 629-2CH). I paid a bit of a premium for this one as it came with SB combat grips, but I am still happy with it.

Thanks everyone, this thing is a beast. Took her out to the range today. Man, what a shooter! Even with a little trepidation about recoil, I was able to hold American Eagle 240 gr. Magnums all in the black (with an occasional "oops" thrown in).

To the guys who had heart palpitations on my choice of background in the earlier photos, here's a follow up image to let you know everything turned out ok. As you can see the revolver is now resting comfortably on a pillow, and enjoying some chocolates...
