So what is your impression of it? Does it live up to the hype you heard about it? I believe you will enjoy shooting it.

According to some I probably paid to much for mine also but it was what I wanted so I am good with it. It is a really good shooter and looks just as good. The trigger action is Python quick to strike. Over all I am glad I bought mine.

I went to a new shop about 40 miles from my home Friday and I saw one of the best looking Pythons I had seen in the tall display case for sale. Six inch and it just glowed. Dealer said it came with box and docs and was hardly shot. I could not see a turn line but gun was behind glass and as I would not spend that much(3,000) I did not ask to have the gun come out of the case.

Nice purchase. Prices for used ones always leave me wondering how much they would cost if Colt started making them the exact same way today. We all might have a coronary!!

I have 3 Pythons. A blue 4", blue 6" and a nickel 4". Total investment for all three is $1,050. Didn't feel like I got them cheap. Been a while since I bought them.

I sold my two 6" and one 2.5" pythons last year to pay off some bills and they turned out to be probably the best return on investment on guns I've ever had! The prices today especially here in Kalifornia are insane.

I kept one though, a 4" shooter that Teddy Jacobsen tunes for me about 15 years ago, love the trigger on that gun.

Enjoy yours, Hard to shoot a python without a huge grin!

"Python" and "Shooter" do not belong in the same sentence, frankly.

These are now collector's pieces. Keep in mind each round fired decreases your guns value and brings it one day closer to needing repair, and smiths out there savy on snake guns are a nearly extinct breed...

I've always wanted at least one colt revolver . A python has always been beyond my finances . Recently I had a chance to buy an old model trooper 357 , 4" barrel for $480 . I took a chance and bought it off the internet . NO , it's not a python even though it's built on the same frame and has the same internal mechanism . The finish is gorgeous , the timing and lock up are perfect . This will do , it's my " poor boys " python and I'm a happy sort . Regards, Paul

That stuck me as humorous for some reason. Never had a Python that didn't get quite a few rounds through it! Only one that has given any trouble was a newer 4" that broke a firing pin just before a match. Had to whittle out a new one post haste.

Of them all, none has had a good a trigger DA or SA as garden variety S&W.

They are purty, so....

Try buying those three today and see what you paid will not even buy one these days. Two grand minimum for a Python in good condition is more like it today.

Last one (only one i've Handled) i've Seen for sale, since actually keeping an educated eye open for them, was well over 2 thou. 2500. If I recall. In Very Good condition.

My friend and I went shooting a lot when we were younger, He used an 8'' python and I used an 8'' 686. Both guns were new and both were just as accurate and fun to shoot, very hard to pic one over the other. If you don't want to shoot your python to much, get a Trooper it's cheaper and neary the same gun.

I guess I'm the odd man out. I bought a 6" Python back in 1972. Also had a 27-2. Took out he Python shot 50 rounds thru it. Just didn't like the trigger as well as my 27-2. Never fired the Python again. Sold it 2 years ago.
