Stepdaughter of Master Engraver Domingos Joaquim
Hi, just wanted to pass along a little amazing little known fact for my deceased stepdad D.J. Domingos Joaquim that not many people are aware of. My stepdad was not just a master engraver, he was an artistic genius. While working with Smith & Wesson there were many things going on within the company that he explained later some of his concerns over. Hence his reasoning for doing what he did. In an extensive amount of work HE took on, he literally hid his own personal signature within the spaces of the artwork. There are a number of works he stepped away from attributing his name to because of circumstances. How do I know this to be true? Being his stepdaughter I have an entire box full of his sketches worked and reworked for belt buckles and guns and knives that some other persons supposedly did. He applied his artistic method to the die cuts that included his name where they should have been all along. I also have prototypes of some of his inventions and some of his blueprints. I really suggest people look further into the artistic details of their items to find his signature, that claim fame to another name. He deserves credit where credit was long overdue.
