I just watched the late Anthony Bourdain eat at In & Out Burger in L.A. saying they don't have them back east. These are great hamburgers and that's just what they sell. No tacos, sushi, etc.. just the basics. Burgers, fries, shakes, and soda. I took this picture a week ago to torment my son in Germany. Here's the Bourdain clip, too, as he praises the place.

MMMMM, yup. Love In & Out Burger. We don't have them in NM, so I have to wait until I am travelling to go there. We do have Bob's Burgers that make great taco burgers. It is half a hamburger patty in a taco shell with cheese, green chile, and lettuce. Addicting!

In & Out are only in about 6 states with all 300+ locations owned by one 30 something 4 time divorced woman.

There's one near my local Costco that I frequent about once a month.

Much better than McDs,Sonic,Whataburger,Wendy's,Burger King & Carl's Jr.

No White Castle belly Bombs in this State but can buy them frozen in Walmart.

In & Out Burgers bought property a mile from me last July. They have yet to develop on it. I'll give it a try if they ever open. Of course they will have to compete with Jack and his Spicy Chicken Club Combo at $4.99.

Rarely do I see an I and O Burger without a long line at the drive through, even at 2300 hours; I can’t say the same about other burger joints. Simple and not gimmicky.

I went once, won't be going back. Nothing to write home about.

The ones around Dallas were all closed last night and so far today, something to do with bun quality. Made the news.

In-N-Out, are the best, (with a close second down here in SoCal of The Original Tommy's, chilli burgers). I first got introduced to In-N-Out in 1975 when I was working at a large gun shop in Pasadena, CA. I seldom go more than a couple of weeks without an In-N-Out run.

There's also a wonderful, distinctive smell to an In-N-Out burger that tells everyone nearby that you're having a wonderful meal. Just that smell puts a smile on everyones' face.

Best regards,

Someone mentioned the ones around Dallas closing. I ate at one of the Dallas locations several years ago; certainly nothing special. Just another hamburger place. Perhaps the ones in other areas are better.

I encountered them in my West Coast touring days. The first being in Newport Beach and I really liked them and put them on my 'approved burger' list.

The closest one to me now is in Columbus. I don't like them that much.

Between Fairbanks and Delta Alaska was the Midway Lodge. Prior to closing they had great burgers and fries even came with a side of Lipitor.
