In praise of Fast Food

I don't make it a steady diet nor do I normally choose it for a dining experience but stick it out the window, hand me a napkin, and I'm back on the highway in minutes. I hate wasting time where there's distance between me and where I need to be.

When I eat food from McDs, it isn't a hamburger. To me, the Big Mac is the worst burger I've ever eaten. Actually I find the conversation about the evils of preservatives and genetics as paranoid as global warming. We are living longer now than ever, and our diet definately has something to do with it. But, I still try to cut back on saturated fats and sodium.

A friend of my brother's who is a butcher once told me the fancy restaraunts soak their beef in tenderizers for 24 hours or more, while the chains-used to be Sizzler's in our area-don't bother with that because their turnover is so rapid.

How about not-so-fast food:

I think I'll bring a bag lunch. :D

No its not healthfood and no its not my first choice but I just finished a Wendys bacon and bleu burger and it was mighty tasty.

I spent right at 6 months on Taiwan several years back. I couldn't wait to get my teeth on a Quater Pounder With Cheeze and a large order of fries!
Yuck!! It was like having a mouth full of lard after months of real Chinese food... I've persevered and have adjusted though :)

BTW - It's hard to find *real* Chinese food here in the USA - I have no idea why though. They feel that they have to *Americanize* it - WRONG!

Kind of like blaming the gun for a shooting incident instead of the person who pulled the trigger.

McDonalds has something like 8 different salads, half a dozen chicken or fish sandwiches, another half a dozen chicken or beef wraps.

It's not Mcdonalds fault if I order the 1/4 pounder instead of the salad when I go through the drive-thru.

Mcdonalds made the top 10 list of healthiest fast food joints as well.
