Thx for the head's up reckless, that's a good price for plinking ammo in the current market.

Thanks for the link! Do you have a trick to find ammo on Cabelas? If I do the typical ammo search using the shooting/ammunition/rifle ammunition links these 5.56 are not listed.

Lol no trick... I just sadly spend too much time browsing too many gun related sites and forums daily... :o

Got some thanks! Cabelas has great prices when you can catch it in stock. I paid 14 a box locally for some of this. They must have made a lot of it because it's showing up a lot online and the LGS where I bought it got 500k rounds.

Thanks for the heads up. I paid $20 per box locally for this a month ago. Glad to see more places getting stock and more realistic with pricing.

It's decent ammo. Made in Israel. Since last Friday, I have been purchasing 3-6 boxes (pending if I have another willing body), for $9.99. The LGS has a 3 box limit per day, per customer. However, the guys tell me I'm the only one who is buying it. They say it appears no one knows they have it in stock. Lucky me. One guy told me they have 18 cases of it in the back, so Merry Christmas again, to me!

I'm not hoarding though. I can run through 2-3 boxes in a day, just shooting in my woods, although it's normally with the M&P 15-22.

these are advertised as having "boat tail" bullet. Any have experience with this...good or bad? Is this standard for NATO?
Boat Tails are actually not all that un common. A few bigger names make them as well, like Remington & Hornady. It has been said that Boat tails are more accurate in longer distances like 300+ yards, while the flat based configuration tends to be more accurate up close. The boat tails have a tendency to shed their jackets easier than their flat based counter parts. In short, the boat tails retain energy better at long range, b/c they retain velocity better than flat based. That fact alone could change your maximum point blank range or pipe zero significantly enough to matter, if you hunt or target practice beyond 250 yards or so...

The Israel military uses these same rounds. They are FMJ, and have military sealers, as well as a good military crimp. I'm starting to sound like a sales rep for them, but I assure you, I am not. Just a happy camper. In today's world, PRICE on ammo matters  This stuff is becoming the new currency.

Local gun store/shop. It's crazy, because I thought the (3) box limit was a corporate policy or something. However, today I took a buddy with me for my usual (3+3) special. The manager saw me coming and already started reaching for the ammo. He says "Since you are the only one who is buying this stuff anyway, how does (5) boxes sound? I told him that would be great, and my buddy got (5) as well. Then he says "I figured I'd save you a trip, you can take tomorrow off", and I replied "I'll see you tomorrow buddy..:p"

Anyway, at the register, I was thinking it would be two seperate transactions, First (3) boxes, then ring up the additional (2). However, all (5) were done in the same transaction which led me to believe, they could sell as much of it to anyone, at any time. I'm not complaining though
