Growing up and being raised by WW II vets it was the BIGGEST day, now I think some people are not celebrating it. Very sad .

Not gonna be the same this year . . . our constitutional freedoms in jeopardy in some areas due to overzealous elected government officials reacting to COVID; civil unrest, riots and pillaging in many of our major cities, and even some smaller ones; Socialism being taught in our universities as though it's a good thing for our country; flagrant disrespect among Americans for one another; and a media unchecked fanning the flames.
America as we knew it is at risk. That's what I'll be thinking about this Independence Day.

Thanks Kurusu. 
Since there is not much in the way of traditional fireworks being set off because of the pandemic, I looked through my photos for some of past 4th celebrations. Only found one 4th, when we were working in Cincinnati in the mid 80's.
And, a thanks to the French for their invaluable help in making it happen.

I have to work, as usual, but I'll say a little prayer of thanks to the Man above for allowing me to live in the USA instead of, say, China for instance.
Local CAF wing is doing flyovers tomorrow with WWII vintage aircraft to celebrate. That should be fun to watch.

We live in the greatest nation on earth! I am blessed to be here and we are seeing history being made. The 2nd great American revolution is at hand and we all get to witness it!

I just got back from the American Legion over in the next town, Hanover, PA. I thought I had to be in the American Legion or VFW on Independence Day. I made a toast to the USA, the good ship Neptune that brought my mother's ancestor from Germany, and the ship Juneau that almost brought my dad's ancestor from France. The Juneau sank in a storm off Yorktown, VA and my ancestor had to swim the last two miles or so to make it here.

God Bless and Happy Birthday America but it about broke my heart that besides my own and the one on the back of a T-shirt I saw but one US flag flying on my ride to work Saturday morning.
