Does the 9mm work okay? I've only ever shot .38sp in the Independence.

I have fired probably 2000 rounds of the Independence 115 FMJ with no misfires or any other issues.

Last year one of the LGS had it for 9.99 a box and I bought two cases of it.

I ran it in several different 9's without a problem.

Awesome, that's what I was looking for. Thanks!

All Independence ammo is is Blazer Brass ammo by CCI.

I read somewhere (perhaps here) that it is manufactured for ATK (Speer Federal or whoever's name is on it) by Magtech using CCI components... is that story accurate or just another inet rumor?

When Independence ammo first hit the market, yes, it was indeed made by Magtech of Brazil. The way to identify the Magtech ammo is it uses a gold colored primer with \_/ on the primer. The headstamp will also be: *I*.

Later lots made by CCI in Lewiston, ID. has the same *I* headstamp. Today, every box of Independence ammo I see has cases stamped BLAZER (i.e.: CCI Blazer Brass).

It appears that CCI is introducing a nickel cased 9mm in the Independence line. I've only seen one Internet company advertising it for sale so far.
