Aloha all,

LGS has a revolver that they have no info on. I have an idea on what it might be but figured I would present it to the forum for more experienced persons to comment on.

I think it is a model 10 but there is no stamp on the crane. Hopefully the pictures were uploaded correctly. Any thought?

ok, I'll greet you in MY regional way...YO!
Pics don't show up, u did it wrong. I find it easiest to upload pics to facebook, then open up pic in facebook and click properties for url, then copy url.

If you click on Post Reply under the last message, then Manage Attachments, then post the photo links above into the empty text box and click Upload, they will appear as thumbnails in your message. If the photos are too large using an outside service like Photobucket or Facebook will work.

This links to the picture that you provided are simply links to where they are stored on your computer. This means that unless you've set your personal computer up as an Internet Server that the only one who can see these pictures are those sitting at your computer monitor.

What you need to do is copy your picture files to the Server for this web site, once you do that everyone will be able to see them. To do that instead of hitting the "Post Quick Reply" button hit the "Go Advanced" button. When you do that you'll open a page with expanded options for posting a reply. Scroll down a bit and you'll find a button called "Manage Attachments" in a block under Additional Options. Hit that button and you'll see a new window pop up for managing attachments to a reply. Up at the top of that new window will have a box for "Uploading" files from your computer to this site. Push on the Browse button, locate the file to Upload on your computer, hit the "Open" button in the Explorer Popup, and then hit the "Upload" button in that new window for the site. Once the file has been copied you can then hit the "Close this window" button to return to the thread reply window. BTW, you can go thru the Browse and Upload routine multiple times in order to post multiple image files.

Updated with pictures

Okie Dokie, hope this is better haha.

More info as the pics are kinda blurry. The LGS said there were no numbers under the stocks. The only numbers I could find were along the underside of the barrel where the ejector rod is and on the crane area.
The number along the barrel is 220214. The stamping on the crane looks like a 0 with the numbers 53913 underneath. Barrel length is 4 inches.

Aloha,

This is a .38 Combat Masterpiece, after 1957 called the model 15. The letter K is part of the SN along with the 220214 and indicates it shipped in 1954. It is called a 5-screw frame (four on the sideplate if you take the stocks off, and one in the front base of the trigger guard). The other numbers are factory internal codes.

The original stocks would have been Magna or service type with an uncheckered diamond around the stock screw. It looks to be in pretty nice condition.

It looks like a Combat Masterpiece. What became the Model 15. I'm guessing 5 screw. Is there one in front of the trigger guard?

It could be an old HPD gun. If so, that would be cool.

I grew up in Kailua....I miss the islands...

Awesome guys!! Thanks!! Now, the million dollar question...is 300 a good price?? Looking at this or a ruger 45 convertible for about 450. I am sure both guns are negotiable.

Sgt 127, I grew up on the north shore. Kahuku then Waialua.

Aloha,

Heck, yeah, three bills is a decent deal.
The Combat Masterpiece is a great revolver. I have one that's probably about the same vintage, and it has a SWEET trigger pull.
Those stocks are not factory, but they are kind of interesting. Go shoot it, you'll enjoy it.:D

Since there is one at the top of the sideplate, there will definitely be one in the trigger guard. The top sideplate screw was the first to go - around 1955. The cylinder stop spring retaining screw did not depart until about 1961 on this model.
