Info on a mod 37

Hello everyone I just purchased a s&w 37 in excellent condition and apart from the obvious cracked frame under the bbl, which it doesn't have is there any other information on them that I would need to know? ie type of ammo. Once again thank you.

Congrats on picking up one of S&W's neat Airweights.

I use wad cutter ammo in mine. No problems so far.

Yours appears to be from somewhere in the late '60s to the very early '80s (that thumbpiece, the pinned barrel, and the small logo on the left side of the frame give it away). We'd need at least the first half of the serial number to get closer in guessing when the factory shipped it.

The cracked frame is a major problem.

His doesn't have a cracked frame, Chief.

He was letting us know he's aware that's one of the model's downfalls and wondered if there were others.
