Information on Victory please

I have a 4" barrel Victory 38 Special ser. # V 15137 with no marking on the top strap with all matching numbers. There is a "P" on the front of the left grip frame under the grip and there is a "R" on the rear of the left grip frame under the grip. Any information like manufacture date etc. is much appreciated. Thanks very much.

Unfortunately in the Catalog it just gives a range.
V1 was from 1942 and it went to V811,119 in 1945.

Yours probably shipped around August 1942. There are several possibilities if it does not have a "United States Property" topstrap stamping, but it's most likely a DSC gun intended for stateside service as a police or defense plant guard gun. Only a factory letter would tell the story.
