I am very new to this, so please be patient.
S&W Magnum .357 revolver
Model 66-2
4 inch barrel
AAT9508

This means it was made (shipped) sometime between 1982 and 1986?

Anything else I might have missed and/or need to know?
Can anyone provide an estimated value?

It doesn’t have the original stocks. The dash 2 were the first Model 66 that didn’t have a pinned barrel or recessed cylinder. Do you have the box and original stocks? Is it mechanically sound? Both will affect the price along with which part of the country you live in.

Welcome to the Forum. I think you have the timeframe about right, the triple alpha dates are fuzzy. Shows some wear but looks pretty good. Probably $600-$700 where I shop, maybe more on an auction site. Good luck.

It was loaded. It is empty now. Haven't fired it, don't plan to. No box, no other stocks. Helping a friend clean out her mother's home, and we don't have any other information on the gun. It was a surprise find in the kitchen.

Nice surprise! Nice gun! I would agree with the $600 to $700 range. I would have had to have shot it. The short barrel versions bring more money but it is hard to beat a four inch K frame as an all around gun. Good luck with it! Welcome to the forum!
