I finally got a couple of my new S&W M&P pistols out to the range...

M&P 9mm Performance Center Shield Plus- bought this one a few months ago to become my primary CCW pistol, but some life issues kept me from getting to the range. I traded in my standard 9mm PC Shield for this one, and obviously didn't want to carry it until I ran some rounds through it. I also wanted to let the magazine springs compress for a while because I couldn't get the 13th round into the magazines. The PC Shield Plus was a joy to shoot. Very nice ergonomically, not much felt recoil for quick follow-up shots, and very accurate for a short-barreled pistol. I shot a mix of Magtech and Blazer 115gr FMJ ammo, and the only issue was one Blazer case that stuck in the chamber. It was the case, not the pistol, because I had to pry that case out of the chamber. Other than that, the PC Shield Plus ran flawlessly, and was on target from 7 to 15 yards (Weaver stance). I'm very impressed.

M&P 10mm 2.0, 4.625" bbl.- just bought this one a week ago. Both magazines accepted all 15 rds, and locked up tightly into the pistol. I ran a couple of boxes of Federal 180gr FMJs through it to start breaking it in. This 10mm was a surprisingly soft shooter. I had expected more recoil from this polymer 10mm, but it was like shooting a steel 1911 .45 ACP. The tall sights didn't bother me at all, although I did need to hold the sights on target instead of at 6 o'clock. The M&P ran flawlessly, and was extremely accurate (much more than me!) from 7 to 25 yards (Weaver stance, no optic). Again, I was very impressed. I am still a little concerned about the reported issues with F2F and un-commanded mag drops, but so far so good. We'll see after I put a few hundred more rounds downrange.

Glad you got to get out and shoot them. I had the same problem with 2/3 of the 13 rd mags I have not accepting the 13th. Did you reload yours multiple times? I haven't gotten to take the 13 rd mags out for the range test yet, did the mag spring tension get better after use?

Sounds like a good range day. My S&W 10mm has run flawless as well.
I really like mine.

Yep, I always use the Uplula for all my pistol magazines...but that 13th round was a bear to load into my two Shield Plus magazines. Even after allowing the springs to compress for a while (loaded for a couple of months), I still had to exert a bit of force with the Uplula to seat those 13th rounds. Seems like it's getting easier, though.
