I know it won't do a thing for accuracy, but I was wondering if it would help keep the cylinder locked up tighter when shooting stout 357 loads?
What would a gunsmith charge for a job of this nature?
There has to be some gunsmiths on this forum that could give a ballpark estimate.

I have a question regarding the ball detent jigs you can buy from Brownells or Midway.....The jig seems to make it easy to align the hole and to stake the spring and ball in there, but how do you make the small dent in the frame that the crane locks up in? I didn't see a jig for this or any mention of it.

Carefully, use a Foredom or Dremel tool with a very small carbide burr bit. .... Big Cholla

Also use Dykem or simular in the frame, you open and close the yoke about 10-15 times. You will see a mark that's left by the ball and then use the above answer by Big Cholla.
