I took the rear sire assembly off to change the rear site blade. I reinstalled it properly after changing out the blade. But while trying to adjust the elevation on the second range outing, I realized that the rear site stud and spring clip where missing. getting ready to install the replacements but would prefer that they stayed where I put them this time. Any tips on how to accomplish this task. It seems rather simple but didn't go well for me the first time.

The snap ring attatches to the bottom of the elevation screw to hold it in the assembly. The elevation stud just screws in to the bottom of the elevation screw prior to placing the assy back into the "T" slot, and replacing the sight leaf screw.

Not sure why the elevation screw & stud came off after you changed the blade, but I don't remove the assembly either, just the blade.

When I have removed the whole assembly the T-stud usually seems to require extra attention to get it started in the T-groove. At least once it got started 90 degrees off. Just pay close attention to it going in square next time & making sure the stud is well threaded into screw.
